Natural Green Tea Helps Acne Too
Natural Green Tea
Polyphenols, the potent antioxidants in natural green tea, are classified as catechins. The six primary catechin compounds in natural green tea are the most active and are also the most widely studied. These compounds: catechin, gallaogatechin, epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechin gallate, and apigallocatechin gallate; are commonly known as EGCG. EGCG have been shown to be highly effective agents against inflammation.
Oolong, black, and natural green tea all come from the Camellia sinensis plant. The others are fermented in their processing, whereas natural green tea leaves are steamed. This steaming preserves the EGCG, allowing the natural green tea to maintain its effectiveness.
