CAAH Summary: Be on the lookout for an acne scar treatment from Isolagen Therapy. There have been promising results during testing of a product they are developing to treat moderate to severe acne scaring.

109 participants applied either the Isolagen treatment or a placebo to one side of their faces during the course of the study. 43% of participants reported a response to the treatment (compared to 18% who reported a change with the placebo). And 59% of evaluators noticed a result with the Isolagen treatment .

If shown to work as designed to, the product under development would also be useful in other areas of skin improvement. It has potential for use in the treatment of burn scars, stretch marks, and for wrinkle reduction as well as.

Currently, the licensure application process is underway and the safety data for the study is being reviewed, as seems to be protocol. Nothing out of the ordinary has been reported during the testing – all should be clear for the new treatment to move onto the next step in coming to the market.
