Choosing Makeup For Acne Skin
No Comment
Wearing daily makeup on acne prone skin can be a delicate balancing act. Basically, since makeup is
designed to cover the skin (and, of course, lay on top of pores), it is tricky to regularly wear makeup and
not trigger an outbreak.
There are only a few companies out there who have made a special effort to provide medicated options or special makeup for acne skin. A good way to handle this situation is by considering the options out there that are easily available, yet less likely to lead to breakouts.
Consider Mineral Makeup…
Normal makeup formulations are thicker (for better coverage) and tend to be cakey as a result. Mineral makeup, on the other hand, is powdery, so it is lighter and that makes a big difference. Essentially, with mineral makeup, acne skin is better able to “breathe” and it is less likely that pores will become clogged. Another side benefit of using mineral makeup for acne skin is that it will help to absorb the oils that acne bacteria thrives in.
… Or Just Powdered Makeup Instead
A common complaint about mineral makeup lines is their selection do not always offer colours that match certain skin tones. If that is an issue for you as well, an alternative could be to stick with brands you know and love but switch over to their powdered products instead.
